About me

I hold an MLS specializing in digital libraries, and an MIS with a focus in human-computer interaction from Indiana University, Bloomington. I also have an MFA in Creative Writing from Oregon State University.

With extensive professional, educational, and creative experiences in the arts and information and computer sciences, I help create empathetic, human-focused digital tools and interfaces for researchers in the digital humanities and beyond. Understanding users’ needs, expectations, and goals is key to my design work, and working collaboratively with my small team at HTRC – from software engineers to outreach directors – creates an environment where user needs can be discovered, articulated, and met.

My process changes depending on the needs of each project, but in general I focus on research (gathered from both internal and external data sources), goal formation, hypothesis/journey mapping, design iteration, and collaborative internal feedback/workshop sessions.
